Of the Famous Four Rock Teas, it was Iron Buddha that first beckoned widespread acclaim early in the Tang dynasty. The Chinese name refers to monks who cultivated advanced forms of martial arts. In ancient times, it was often only such monks dwelling in high mountain caves who nurtured great bushes yielding outstanding teas. The fragrance is very floral, and difficult to describe. The general reaction to the smell is that it is familiar but you can't quite remember what it is! The color is dark yellow. The taste fills you whole mouth and lingers sweetly. This and all of our other WuYi Mountain rock teas are certified organic.
