Purple Robe , having been recorded since 1839, amounts to barely 1000 kilos each year. We only have a small amount of tea allocated to our website, so it is first-come, first-served. This is the tea most prized by gourmet drinkers since the heavier firing causes a loss of fragrance. This tea is from early in the harvest, and fired lighter than tea that will be havested later. The younger tea leaves have a purplish/red color. The lighter firing compliments the more delicate early leaves, and maintains a more robust fragrance, similar to sweet osmanthus flowers.
